Adoption of one primary school &
Base Eye Hospital Installation Ceremony
Our 42nd installation ceremony was held on 1st Aug.04 in the dynamic leadership of Lion DR B.K.Sharma at Lion Seva Kendra. A number of prominent citizen and members graced the occasion. Sri H.P.Singh G.M. IOC ltd. was the chief Guest. They have blessed the new team.
Flood Relief
Part of our Dist Begusarai was flood affected. .For the Relief of flood Victims Club had handed over 19 bags of Chura and 2 bags of Gur on 27th July to District Magistrate. Contribution was made by our club members.
Akshya Urja Divas
On 20th Aug On the occasion of Rajeev Gandhi Birth Anniversary. ?Akshya Urja Divas? was celebrated Nationwide. Our club participated in this occasion by organizing a Painting and Debate competition at St Joseph School in the Chairmanship of Lion Sanjiv Maskara. DDC, Begusarai Sri Pathak was the Chief Guest. Nearly 200 students participated in the competition. Prizes were distributed among the winners.
Diabetes Detection Camp
1st diabetes checkup camp was held on 11th Sept at Gandhi stadium, 2nd camp on 12th sept. at G.D.College, 3rd at BPHE School on 31st Oct and 4th at clinic of Lion Dr B.K.Sharma.on 27th Nov 2004 under the chairmanship of Lion Anil Agrawal. These camp was organized at 5.30 am in the morning. The purpose of this camp was to make random checkup of blood sugar among the morning walkers who are unknown of their disease. Nearly 375 peoples were benefited in these camps.
Eye & Dental Checkup
Sight first is our priority project. On 27th Sept 2004 an Eye & Dental checkup programme was organized at Prabhat Tara School. This programme benefited nearly 400 students. MJF Lion Dr. K. D. N. Agrawal and MJF Lion Dr. A.K.Rai checked the vision of the students. Nearly 20 students were found who were unknown for their weak eyesight. Lion Dr. Sanjv Agrawal checked the teeth of the all students present there. Most students were found for un-proper brushing of their teeth. They were given proper advice in this regard.
Sight first Program
Since our inception Lions Club is known for this project. To continue in our journey we have taken one more step by doing three Camps this year.
Our first eye camp was held on 12th Dec, 2ndon Jan 8th & 3rd on 12th Feb. at Sadar Hospital, Begusarai. Sri Sandeep Poundrik D.M. Begusarai had inaugurated 1st camp. Lion Dr A.K.Roy & Lion Dr A.K.Prasad selected nearly 260 cases for free operation. IOL operations were also done. We provided free medicine & food to all patients. Lion Bishnu Agrawal devoted his full time in this camp I express my sincere gratitute to him and to all other members who were present in this camp for their precious time and effort.
Lion Oxygen Bank
Our permanent project Lions oxygen Bank is running in chairmanship of Lion S.P.Agrawal.
Lion Tika Kendra
Our most important & popular polio Vaccination camp is running in the guidance of Lion Rajkumar Megotia at Lion Tika Kendra .One of the most popular vaccination camp running every Sunday at collegiate School.
Diwali Mela
For funding various service projects a Grand Diwali Mela was organized on 7th Nov 2004 at Lions Seva Kendra. Lion Mudita Agrawal was the Chairperson of this project. We give her applaud to organize such a grand and successful Mela. We also recognize the sincere efforts of Lion Raghunath Megotia, Lion Satish Gupta, Lion Anil Agrawal; Lion Brajesh Maskara & Lion Sambhu Megotia in this project.
Felowship Projects
On 21st Nov 2004 a film show Veer Jara was organized in the chairmanship of Lion Satish Gupta at Savitri Picture Hall. This programme was grand success and we had received public demand to organize this type of show again and again.
On 26th Dec we celebrated Our Charter Night Ceremony. Dist Governor Lion Dr. Shailesh was the Chief Guest.
On 16th Jan a Centenary Cricket match was organized with Rotary Club of Begusarai.
On 22nd March Holi meet was organized at Lions Seva Kendra. The Highlight of this meet was a nice musical entertainment programme performed by the students of St. Joseph School . The Director of St. Joseph School Lion Abhishek Singh needs our applaud for this grand event.
